After a recent disappointing glaze firing, I seriously contemplated other ways to add color to my work. If you have ever had a similar experience, working with colored clay might be a great option to try.
Ceramic artist Be Rose works with colored clay in two different ways. She handbuilds certain components of her pots (handles, feet, etc.) with colored clay that complements her surface decoration, and she uses colored clay in slip form for inlay and slip trailing.
