National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) presents Cultivating Community, a week-long series of pre-recorded and live online programming.
Join us beginning with the NCECA Members’ Meeting on Sunday, Sept. 25, and running through October 2, 2022, Cultivating Community includes new and recently recorded sessions that highlight diverse presenters engaging with collective and effective work through ceramic arts and education.
To kick off the excitement for Cultivating Community, together with our Collaboration and Engagement Committee we are thrilled to share the Cultivating Community spotlight with POT, a Los Angeles-based pottery studio leading up to the fall event!
MEET POT
POT is the first community pottery studio for and by people of color in the Los Angeles area. Through clay, we cultivate pleasure, community, and new career paths for our communities while breaking opportunity cycles in our industry. We felt a need for spaces that feel fun and empowering for those marginalized in most ceramic spaces – namely people of color, the queer community, and the youth. For these reasons, we intentionally plan unique programming while also making pottery accessible to our communities through The Potluck Initiative.
