Forty years ago Richard Bresnahan returned from an apprenticeship in Japan to establish the Saint John’s Pottery and Johanna Kiln, an 87 foot long multichamber climbing kiln. The unique context of a Benedictine Abbey and local materials offered Bresnahan a community from which to make culture.
