Since finishing our studio renovation, my Woman as Vessel ceramic sculptures have been sitting on the shelves catching a lot of construction dust. They really needed a thorough clean, so I took advantage of the beautiful weather today to bring them out to the grass.
In this video, I’m sharing my process for safely cleaning delicate ceramic work, from choosing the right low-pressure spray setting to gently brushing away stubborn dirt without damaging the pieces.
It’s a simple, repetitive task, but there’s a quiet satisfaction in pouring the water out, watching the porcelain clean up in the sun, and finally putting everything back onto freshly wiped shelves. My kid even popped by to hang out for a bit while I worked.
