What if you could get five completely different glaze textures just by swapping one ingredient? That’s exactly what this video shows. I’m testing the same silicon carbide lava base glaze — no color, no other changes — but swapping out the flux between zinc, magnesium, calcium, barium, and strontium. The results are completely different for each one.
From puffy marshmallow glazes (zinc) to classic crater lavas (calcium, strontium, barium) to that strange gray puffiness only magnesium makes — real test tiles from my workshops in Bali and Lebanon.
