Descriptions:
In a 1961 interview, James Baldwin spoke about art as a vehicle for self-reflection and interconnection. “The effort it seems to me is: if you can examine and face your life, you can discover the terms with which you are connected to other lives, and they can discover too, the terms with which they are connected to other people.” This conversation, moderated by B. Stephen Carpenter with Erica Halverson, Jules Sievert Rochielle, David East, and Jon Twersky will expand on ideas presented in the keynote lecture and the roles of artists in education and society.
